Ray Nagin at NABJ



New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin spoke on a panel at the National Association of Black Journalists conference on Hurricane Katrina.

"The thing I've probably lost the most sleep about is whether we should have called for a mandatory evacuation earlier," he said. "At the end of the day, I'm fully responsible."

New Orleans mayor Ray Naging spoke to the National Association of Black Journalists at their 31st annual convention and career fair in Indianapolis, Ind. "I, to this day, believe if it happened in Orange County, Calif., or South Beach, Fla., it wouldn't have happened," Nagin said.
